LAS VEGAS – Service Repair Solutions Inc., a provider of innovative information solutions for the auto service and repair industry, announced that James D. Power IV, senior vice president and strategic advisor at J.D. Power and Associates, has joined the SRS Board of Directors.

One of the industry's most well-known experts, Power brings to SRS a wealth of credentials derived from over two decades of hands-on experience. As the son of J. David Power III, founder of J.D. Power and Associates, Power literally grew up with the business. He, like the other Power children, worked at the company in a variety of jobs throughout their early school years and into college.

Power joined the company as a professional employee in 1990. Most recently, he was senior vice president and general manager of international operations. During this period the international business grew to more than 20 percent of the company's overall business and it established offices throughout Asia, Europe and Canada.

In the mid 1990s, Power moved to Michigan to direct the J.D. Power and Associates regional office in Troy, Mich. There he developed business with the automotive manufacturers, the commercial vehicle manufacturers, automotive finance companies and a variety of automotive suppliers. He also managed the Canadian operations and established the first office in Toronto in 1996.

Power launched his career at the advertising agency Foote, Cone and Belding as a key member of the account management team responsible for Mazda's national marketing and communications program. He fulfilled a dream to work directly for an automobile company and in the late 1980s he joined the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors Corporation. There, he was the Geo marketing development manager for the region covering Southern California, Arizona, southern Nevada and New Mexico.

"We are extremely fortunate to have Jamey join our Board of Directors. His deep experience at J.D. Power, a data-related business, combined with his talent for and knowledge of international growth and the automotive industry in general, will bring important insight and guidance as we continue to realize our vision of revolutionizing the delivery of service and repair," commented Les Silver, CEO and President of SRS.

Commenting on his appointment Power stated, "At this particular time in the automotive industry, the need has never been greater for solutions that provide significant increases in profits, efficiencies and customer loyalty. I am proud to continue my commitment to the industry by joining SRS and its affiliates in their important work to help overcome these challenges."
