Manheim Auctions Names Mike McKinney Vice President of Dealer Sales
Manheim Auctions has announced that Mike McKinney, group vice president of operations, Southwest, has been named vice president of dealer sales.
“As Manheim continues to focus on dealer sales and helping dealers buy and sell cars more efficiently and cost-effectively, we are pleased to have someone of Mike’s caliber take on this role,” said Dean Eisner, president and chief executive officer of Manheim. “With eight years of manufacturer – dealer and fleet – experience and nearly a decade of hands-on auction experience, Mike is uniquely qualified to help Manheim enhance and expand our services for dealers nationwide.”
Jamie Porter, executive vice president of operations, agreed. “Mike will be instrumental in building and training a higher quality dealer sales force and working with new technology initiatives for dealers. His insight into dealers and their businesses as well as his auction knowledge will prove invaluable in this area.”
McKinney joined Manheim in October 1993 as fleet/lease manager at Atlanta Auto Auction. He brought with him eight years of experience, working at General Motors on the dealer, fleet and auction sides of the automobile business. In August 1996, McKinney was promoted to assistant general manager of Kansas City Auto Auction in Kansas City, Mo. He served in that position until being named general manager of Metro Detroit Auto Auction and Michigan Auto Auction in January 1999. In January 2003, McKinney was promoted to regional vice president of operations, Southwest, a position he held until being named vice president of dealer sales.
McKinney holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Central Michigan University.
