The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that auto dealers have added 42,000 jobs since January 2013, pushing total employee count to just north of 1.16 million.
The New Economic Impact Study shows dealers are responsible for 58,000 jobs, and for collecting $1.83 billion in taxes for state and local governments.
Small businesses added an average of negative 0.11 workers in July, the third negative month in row, according to data from the National Federation of Independent Business.
