Service activity increased while service revenue decreased slightly at U.S. franchised dealerships in October, according to the latest Cox Automotive analysis of Xtime metrics.

COX AUTOMOTIVE – Service activity increased while service revenue decreased slightly at U.S. franchised dealerships in October, according to the latest Cox Automotive analysis of Xtime metrics. The Repair Order Volume Index increased modestly, while the Repair Order Revenue Index slipped slightly to just below the record high set in September.

The monthly Xtime volume and revenue metrics are designed to showcase average service department performance over time, with the information indexed to January 2019. The two top-line measures provide a glimpse into service department performance at franchised dealerships in the U.S. Xtime, a Cox Automotive brand, provides software that helps auto dealers facilitate more than 10 million service appointments monthly.

The October Repair Order Volume Index increased to 87.5, up 1.2% month over month from September’s downwardly revised number and was down 2.9% compared to October 2021.

XTIME REPAIR ORDER VOLUME INDEX

At 128.8, the Repair Order Revenue Index for October was down 0.5% from September’s upwardly revised reading and is up 9.6% year over year. The average revenue generated per repair order decreased by $3, after reaching a record high for the index in September.
