Honda Joins AutoTrader.com to Expand New Car Marketplace
AutoTrader.com, an Internet auto classifieds destination and marketplace, has announced the continued expansion of its New Car Marketplace service through a partnership with American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Beginning Nov. 14, Honda will be featured as the New Car Search Sponsor on AutoTrader.com. Through the partnership, consumers visiting AutoTrader.com's New Car Marketplace who want to conduct a search for new Honda cars or SUVs
will be provided with a direct link to eHonda.com, so they can configure a new Honda vehicle, check inventory specials, arrange pre-approved financing, request a price quote, or use a calculator that allows them to find a vehicle based on their monthly payment.
"Honda cars and SUVs are consistently among the top searched vehicles on AutoTrader.com," said Chip Perry, president and CEO of AutoTrader.com.
"Partnering with Honda and offering a link to eHonda.com's shopping site is just another way that we are responding to the requests of our customers and providing them with more options to search an even wider selection of one of
the most popular brands of cars in the market."
As part of AutoTrader.com's New Car Marketplace, Honda will be able to promote its own shopping site, eHonda.com, to the largest online automotive shopping audience - more than 5 million unique visitors that search
AutoTrader.com each month. In addition, Honda will be generating exposure for its franchise dealers and driving traffic and potential sales to dealers' showrooms.
"We recognize that AutoTrader.com is one of the leaders in online automotive classifieds, which is why we chose to partner with the company to
sponsor their New Car Marketplace," said Steve Center, assistant vice president of e-Business at American Honda. "In fact, more than a million
Honda used-car searches are already conducted each month on AutoTrader.com. This partnership will allow us to generate additional visibility and interest in our new-car inventory from an already loyal Honda customer base. In addition, we'll be helping our dealers enhance their marketing efforts, as well as generating more traffic to eHonda.com."
With the largest inventory of vehicles - more than 1.5 million from dealers and private sellers - AutoTrader.com has been recognized as the number one resource for used car classifieds by J.D. Power & Associates, as well among the top 10 automotive sites that new-car shoppers are visiting.
Building on the success of its online automotive used-vehicle classifieds model and the high volumes of new-car shoppers looking to sell their cars or compare prices, AutoTrader.com is targeting what it says is an unmet consumer need by entering into the new car arena with its New Car Marketplace.
With this announcement, Honda joins other top OEMs who have already signed on to participate in AutoTrader.com's New Car Marketplace.
