Light Truck and Aftermarket Sales Continue to Grow

According to Rhino Linings, light truck sales are continuing to grow despite lingering economic uncertainty. This segment of the auto industry continues to buck economic trends, coming close to setting sales records in 2002. Now as experts predict a sluggish, but slowly strengthening economy this year, light truck sales are expected to be big in 2003 -- an expectation that extends to light truck aftermarket accessories.

Light trucks (including pick-ups, vans and SUVs) now account for more than 50 percent of all vehicles sold in the U.S. According to Automotive News, light trucks outsold cars for the first time in 2002, totaling 8.5M in sales. Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) statistics report that the average light truck buyer adds $1800-$2500 worth of aftermarket accessories within 90 days of purchase, making light truck accessories a significant revenue source. According to research by independent marketing consultants Frost & Sullivan, the North American light truck accessories market generated $1.59 billion in 2000, and steady growth is projected to continue with revenues reaching $1.89 billion by 2007.

According to the company, the U.S. market for sprayed-on bed liners is particularly promising, with sales between 2003 and 2007 expected to continue to grow by an increasingly larger percentage every year.

“Savvy businesspeople everywhere are seeing the advantages in becoming a sprayed-on lining dealer,” said founder and CEO Russell Lewis. “Either as a stand-alone enterprise or add-on profit center, the sprayed-on bed liner business has shown itself to have outstanding profit potential.”

Rhino Linings says it has installed over one million of America’s bed liners. The company has nearly 1,000 retail dealerships and industrial/commercial accounts in the world.

“The sprayed-on lining business is flourishing,” Lewis said, “and you’re even more likely to make a success of this profit-making opportunity when you offer your customers the brand known nationwide for its durability and strength.”

Founded in 1988, Rhino Linings USA, Inc. says it pioneered sprayed-on polyurethane linings in this country to protect trucks and numerous other surfaces from abrasion, impact, chemicals and corrosion. The durable, non-skid lining is available in any color and can be applied virtually anywhere on a vehicle and in any thickness. For more information on how you can benefit by opening a Rhino Linings dealership or adding a Rhino Linings profit center to your existing business, visit the website at www.rhinolinings.com or call (800) 422-2603.
