LoJack, the stolen vehicle recovery system specialist, has relaunched www.LoJack.com, the company's Internet site.

Designed to send an educated and pre-sold/qualified consumer to the dealer,

the site uses the Internet to engender brand loyalty, according to Joseph F. Abely, president of LoJack. Consumers visiting the

new LoJack site will also find product and purchasing information.

One of the improved features of the new LoJack Web site is a more user-friendly authorized dealer database, according to Abely. To find an authorized dealer, the consumer only needs to enter their zip code and indicate the make of the vehicle they are considering. The potential car buyer is then provided with a listing of

dealers (including contact information), and where available, a link to the dealer's Web page.

To complement this effort, LoJack has instituted a major training and sales

effort with Internet managers at dealerships to make them more aware of the benefits of LoJack’s products, according to Abely.

Abely said the new LoJack Web site features a simple navigation scheme and easy access to product, company, and dealer information. "Designed to specially support

dealer selling efforts and not to cause channel conflict, the new www.LoJack.com Web site has been redesigned with our customer, the consumer, and our clients, the automotive dealers, in mind," Abely said.

Designed as a customer retention tool, another section of the site allows the consumer to register their LoJack product online. Devoted to current LoJack product owners, this link allows the customer to update their personal information online. This customer retention effort is designed to keep LoJack “top of mind” with the consumer and support repeat sales with the automotive dealer, according to Abely.

When a consumer visits the new www.LoJack.com site, they will find product information as well as theft data designed to educate the potential new or used-car owner about the need for LoJack. "In the U.S. alone, the problem of vehicle theft has escalated greatly," Abely said. "The FBI estimates that vehicle theft results in an annual loss of almost $7 billion to consumers as well as businesses.

"Links to well known and respected sources for theft data, including the FBI, are readily available on the new www.LoJack.com, making the new LoJack Web site a valuable resource for car and truck buyers who are concerned about vehicle theft," Abely said.

“We have also included a collection of our real-life success stories. This gives visitors to our site a chance to see how valuable LoJack has been for real men and women, all victims of auto theft, who have, thanks to LoJack and the police, gotten their cars back," Abely said. "The LoJack System has a proven track record of reducing damage, improving overall public safety, and solving serious crimes related to motor vehicle theft - all accomplished within the practical constraints of today's overburdened law enforcement system."
