Manheim Express Toasts New Year with New Enhancements for Sellers

Manheim Express introduces new Concierge Inspection Guarantee; More than doubles the size of the Concierge force.

ATLANTA – Manheim is kicking off 2021 with an enhancement to—and expansion of—its Manheim Express Concierge service. Dealers looking to have a trained specialist list their on-the-lot vehicles can now have extra peace of mind thanks to the new, complimentary Concierge Inspection Guarantee, in which Manheim agrees to arbitrate inspection-related claims on behalf of the seller. Manheim is also more than doubling its Concierge force by hiring and training hundreds of new experts, as well as deepening its partnership with Alliance Inspection Management (AiM), so dealers will find it even easier to get a trained specialist to their lots. These enhancements come as digital selling remains strong in the Manheim Marketplace, with 190% growth in digital dealer sales in 2020.

With more inspectors in the field, along with this new guarantee, dealers can get all of their vehicles listed faster while gaining extra peace of mind knowing that Manheim stands behind the Concierge inspection.

“Buyers and sellers alike tell us that they love the Manheim Express Concierge service, as it enables them to wholesale right from their lots without lifting a finger,” said Connie Suozzo, associate vice president, Open Digital, at Manheim. “With more inspectors in the field, along with this new guarantee, dealers can get all of their vehicles listed faster while gaining extra peace of mind knowing that Manheim stands behind the Concierge inspection.”

With the Manheim Express Concierge service, dealers get a dedicated expert to do all of the legwork on listing vehicles—from high mileage units to frontline-ready ones—as well as consult on dealers’ wholesale strategies. In addition to the usual Manheim Express listing features, which include exterior 360s, moveable images, audio and video tags and more, Concierge-generated listings also include an Inspection Grade, undercarriage video, OBD2 engine codes, interior 360-degree imaging—and now the new guarantee. All these features combine to drive buyer confidence and help sellers showcase their inventory right from their lots.

With the complimentary Manheim Express Concierge Inspection Guarantee, Manheim agrees to arbitrate on behalf of the seller for vehicles inspected through the Concierge service and is limited to arbitration claims related to items, such as mechanical, cosmetic and structural elements, in the Concierge Inspection report made during buyer's arbitration window. Best of all, this guarantee is multi-channel, meaning it applies to Concierge-inspected vehicles listed on Manheim Express, as well as Manheim’s other digital platforms like Manheim.com, OVE and Simulcast. While the Manheim Express Concierge service already offered services from coast-to-coast, dealer demand for this white-glove service led Manheim to more than double the number of specialists in the field. Manheim will accomplish this through directly hiring hundreds of new team members, as well as bringing more AiM inspectors into the Concierge service.

Manheim and AiM have enjoyed a successful strategic partnership for years, collaborating on everything from inspection technology to new processes that increase inspection accuracy. AiM inspectors have long been a part of the offsite Manheim inspection force, but bringing these highly trained experts into the Concierge service will help Manheim quickly meet the increasing demand for Manheim Express Concierges.

These enhancements come on the heels of another major enhancement to the Manheim Express Concierge program—the ability for dealers to list their on-the-lot inventory in a live, auctioneer led Simulcast sale. This industry-first capability opens up a whole new selling channel for dealers wholesaling vehicles from their lots and gives buyers more inventory to choose from.

Dealers interested in using the Concierge service can request one through the Manheim Express app, on ManheimExpress.com or by contacting their local Manheim sales rep.
