ST. JAMES, N.Y. -- Schedule Smart launched the Work Order Scheduling System, which lets dealers instantly schedule jobs with aftermarket vendors via the Internet. The system, which is free to dealers, enables dealers to get and compare price quotes from vendors, make appointments, track updates and communicate.
"The system eliminates the time-consuming process of making phone calls to schedule work," said Alisa Brasill of Lexus of Smithtown in Smithtown, N.Y.
When customers purchase a vehicle and want aftermarket add-ons, the finance or sales manager logs onto the system and can either schedule work directly with a preferred vendor or select from a list of local vendors that provide the needed service. The manager can instantly get and compare price quotes, and can track job status from initial entry through completion.
Service vendors electronically get the work orders and assign tasks to employees. The employees will be notified of these pending jobs and, upon completing the task, send a confirmation to the dealership.
Aftermarket vendors pay a subscription fee to be included in the system.
