The influential Consumer Reports has named its 10 best vehicles of 2025.
The lucky-10 ranking divided by vehicle type is dominated by electrified models, whether purely electric or hybrid. It also has outsize showings by Subaru and Toyota and welcomes newcomer the Nissan Sentra as best small car.
The nonprofit organization known for its testing of consumer products has evaluated cars since 1936. It based its 2025-model choices on expected reliability, owner satisfaction and road test performance and safety.
All 10 picks from a selection of more than 260 models on the market this year have low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and highway-speed AEB.
They include four hybrids, three plug-in hybrids and one purely electric vehicle.
In fact, the Toyota Camry, named the best midsize car, now comes only as a hybrid, “and based on its performance in our tests, that’s a good thing,” Consumer Reports says in its award summary on the car.
Here’s the full report with the list.
