Manheim’s Tennessee Auto Auction (TAA) in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Nashville Dealer’s Auto Auction (NDAA) in Nashville have announced that they have merged and will operate out of the NDAA location on Lebanon Road.

According to the companies, the merger will become official on December 17, and the first combined sale will take place on Tuesday, January 7. The combined venture will assume the Tennessee Auto Auction name and will be run by Robin Treadway, current manager of NDAA.

After the merger, Manheim will have two auctions in Middle Tennessee – the new TAA, a seven lane, 170-acre operation that first opened 50 years ago as NDAA; and Nashville Auto Auction (NAA), a 265-acre facility with 14 lanes in suburban Mt. Juliet, Tenn., that formerly occupied the current NDAA facility until it outgrew the site.

“We have a very strong relationship with the new Tennessee Auto Auction,” said Kelly Conger, general manager of Nashville Auto Auction in Mt. Juliet. “Our mission is to help our customers succeed in their businesses, and by offering the services of two auctions, and by sharing – not competing for – customers, we are able to provide numerous options when it comes to remarketing vehicles. The merger will only strengthen that relationship.”

According to the companies, consignors at NAA are generally selling late-model vehicles at high volumes. But often they need to remarket vehicles outside of this category. That’s where the new TAA’s base of buying dealers comes in.

“The Murfreesboro location was a great auction for Manheim over the last eight years,” said Conger. “We hope our Murfreesboro customers will see that the merger is meant to benefit them. At the new TAA, the small fleet/lease company with 10 vehicles running through the lanes will still have a captive audience. The sales will still be on Tuesdays at 2 p.m., and they’ll also have the resource of NAA at their disposal.”
