Big Three Boost Incentives
DETROIT--To take advantage of the big spring selling season, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler increased their incentives this week.
Chrysler, which reportedly spends the most on incentives of all automakers, increased cash back on the Dodge Durango SUV and is offering a $1,000 rebate on its 2005 minivans, said Reuters.
GM said it is offering an extra $1,000 cash-back and interest-free financing on loans for up to five years most of its 2003 and 2004 pickups and SUVs. This is on top of cash rebates as high as $3,500 on many models.
Ford reportedly said it plans to add $500 to rebates on the 2004 Focus and Escape SUV and some versions of the F-150.
Ford and GM both reported higher vehicle sales in March, while Chrysler sales fell 2 percent.
