DAYTON, OhioCarLocate.com, part of The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, can now be viewed on any Web-enabled phone and on any carrier, the company announced last week.

"We’ve built CarLocate.com from the ground up to make the features on the site easy to use for car shoppers," said Nicole Case, general manager CarLocate.com. "The goal is to help you locate the car that best fits with what you want to buy and how you want to buy. Now, those features include the ability to browse the site on your preferred form of Web access — computer or mobile."

The CarLocate.com Website also includes these new communication features:

• Clicking the mobile phone icon from any new or used car listing enables you to send the details about that car from the site to your mobile phone. This allows you to review the listing later or share it with others via text message.

• Clicking the telephone icon next to the dealer’s contact information connects you directly to a representative at the dealership so you can ask questions or schedule a test drive.

"As Web and mobile technologies continue to evolve, the ways consumers shop for cars and connect with dealerships also are rapidly changing," added Case, who also serves as director of product planning for Reynolds Web Solution. "We expect to keep CarLocate.com in front of those changes and continue to lead in the Web and mobile space for consumers using the site and the dealerships listing their vehicles on it."

Case will be at the F&I Conference and Expo this month, where she will join other industry experts for the event’s “Mobilization Nation” panel. Scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m., the session will explore the marketing opportunities offered by mobile devices, including what’s been tried, what’s been successful and what’s next for mobile marketing.
