eBay Motors Launches New Car-Shopping Experience

ORLANDO, Fla. -- eBay Motors launched at the annual dealer convention an online shopping experience for new vehicles, giving auto dealers and manufacturers an alternative channel to market inventory with attractive, up-front pricing to local buyers.
This new car option, powered by online auto-buying platform Zag, allows franchised dealers to target a highly-qualified group of local consumers ready to purchase a new vehicle in a no-haggle environment. Through this new car offering, more than 2,600 certified Zag dealers join the eBay Motors family. With the addition of this offering, eBay Motors modifies its homepage to offer shoppers the option to either choose new cars or used cars.
This new offering complements existing selling options for new vehicles offered by eBay Motors, including National Market, which exposes vehicle inventory to more than 10 million unique visitors each month, and Local Market, which allows dealers to reach highly qualified local buyers. Dealers can now choose from a variety of new car selling options on eBay Motors, including auction, fixed price, best offer or an online classified ad to drive leads. Currently, new cars make up about 13 percent of all vehicles sold on eBay Motors.
“eBay Motors offers more options for auto dealers than simply used cars and auctions,” said Nicolas Franchet, senior director, U.S. Vehicles at eBay Motors. “It’s a multi-dimensional marketplace for franchise dealers and OEMs to drive sales and marketing of all vehicles, parts, and services, while offering unparalleled value and selection to consumers.”
