Honda has won the hearts of mass-market consumers, according to an annual survey of Kelley Blue Book vehicle shoppers.
The Japanese automaker swept that end of the market in the poll of more than 12,000 consumers in the market for a new vehicle in the next 12 months.
Honda took brand honors for overall brand for the fifth straight year, plus most trusted, value for the 12th straight year, in-vehicle experience, EV/hybrid brand, performance and car styling, according to the survey results.
“Honda is an absolute standout this year,” said Vanessa Ton, senior research and market intelligence manager at Cox Automotive, which owns Kelley Blue Book.
“This data-driven award sweep demonstrates new-car shoppers’ high opinions of Honda on everything from trust and value to styling, performance and more.
Consumers rated Ram as the best overall truck brand.
On the luxury end, Lexus took half of the luxury category honors, besting competitors on overall brand, trusted brand for the 11th straight year, and value.
Rounding out the luxury categories, Mercedes won for both in-vehicle experience and styling, while Porsche took the award for performance.
The decades-old poll measured consumers’ perceptions of auto brands across 14 vehicle aspects, including affordability, design and durability.
