ATLANTA – With business growth anticipated in the Northeast and transportation services becoming an integral part of the automotive industry, Manheim has promoted Tim Van Dam to market vice president for the northeast market. He replaces Jerry Tassone, who was recently named president of Ready Auto Transport.

In his expanded role, Van Dam will continue to oversee Manheim Pennsylvania, the company’s largest location, reporting to Tim Janego, Eastern regional vice president. Both moves are effective immediately.

As market vice president of Manheim Pennsylvania since 2010, Van Dam has led a variety of efforts to broaden awareness of the remarketing industry, as well as expand Manheim’s global presence. His efforts included hosting a team of international ambassadors at Manheim Pennsylvania to learn about the auction business and its potential as a global business model. In addition, Van Dam helped grow the auction’s digital and in-lane sales and customer base and created innovative educational programs, including NextGEN. Prior to that, Van Dam ran several company locations as general manager, including Manheim Southern California, Manheim California and Manheim New Jersey.

“Tim is a strategic thinker and leader who continues to see new possibilities for our business and industry around every corner,” said Tim Janego. “His strong relationship-building skills, operational expertise and experience leading teams will provide our customers and our business with key advantages.”

As market vice president for the northeast market since 2010, Tassone led the market to new strides, company officials said. “Jerry’s focus on continuous improvement, technology solutions and delivering a consistent, reliable experience for customers will add significant value to Ready Auto Transport’s customer base throughout the industry,” Janego said.
