General Motors announced what some news outlets say will be Buick’s last new gas-powered model, the 2024 Envista.
The small sports-utility vehicle is being billed as a premium crossover with an “approachable” price, starting at $23,495. It replaces the Encore as Buick’s entry-level model.
GM now has the Encore GX, a larger model that starts at $26,000.
Buick said the Envista drives and looks like a sedan with the passenger height and space of an SUV.
It will be offered in three different trims. Buick said it will be its first model to fully incorporate the brand’s new design, with a low-profile and forward-leaning nose.
Buick, like many other brands, plans to transition from internal combustion engines to EVs by the end of the decade.
