Manheim Auctions has announced the Tim DeBerry, most recently general manager of Manheim's Lauderdale-Miami Auto Auction, has been named general manager for Manheim's Nashville Auto Auction.

"Nashville is a very strong auction with a history of success," said Darryll Ceccoli, chief operating officer at Manheim Auto Auctions. "As we prepare to move to a new facility in Nashville, we wanted to bring someone in who could take this auction to the next level. Tim has a proven track record for turning a strong auction into an exceptional one and he's one of the most well-respected people in the business."

As general manager of the Nashville Auto Auction, DeBerry will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility. While the auction has been at its current Nashville location since 1954, a new facility is currently being built in Wilson County. The new site is a 265-acre tract located in the East Gate Business Park, near the intersection of I-40 and Highway 109, inside the Lebanon, Tenn., city limits.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to head up such a well respected auction," DeBerry said. "This is a great auction with an excellent staff and a great group of dealers who I am anxious to get to know."

DeBerry has been in the auction business for almost 15 years, beginning his career as a fleet/lease manager at ADT Automotive's Dealers Auto Auction of Sanford.

Prior to settling into his post as general manager of Manheim's Nashville Auto Auction, DeBerry took over the top spot at the Lauderdale-Miami Auto Auction in 1998, making it one of the most popular auctions in the highly competitive Florida market. Before that, he served as general manager for both the Colorado Springs Auto Auction and the Clearwater Auto Auction in Florida. All facilities were ADT Automotive auctions prior to Manheim's purchase of ADT Automotive.

In 1999, while overseeing the Lauderdale-Miami Auto Auction, DeBerry received the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association (FIADA) "Aucton Man of the Year" award, which is given to a member of the association who makes significant contributions by holding membership drives, participating in meetings and conventions, getting sponsorships and generally supporting the association and the industry.
