Inspection Solution, part of Manheim Auctions’ restructured Remarketing Solutions division, is netting positive results for Wells Fargo through faster remarketing turnaround on its end-of-lease vehicles.

Inspection Solution offers fixed-site return centers where inspections are performed with the lessee present, and collections are made on the spot for contractual obligations such as excess mileage, wear and tear, etc. End-of-term vehicles are then returned to the auction within 48 hours instead of the normal 28 days.

“We are pleased with Inspection Solution’s performance,” said Mercedes Ruiz, Wells Fargo’s vice president. “The service is improving our bottom line because the inspections are done immediately with the lessee present so they can see first hand the reasons for any contractual charges. Inspection Solution is accomplishing in days what would have taken us weeks. In addition to the speed of service, we also appreciate the consistently accurate inspection reports prepared by their team of company-employed and -trained inspectors.”

“The holding costs associated with keeping a car in inventory after it has come off lease can reach hundreds of dollars,” said Dave DeWolf, chief operating officer for Remarketing Solutions. “By expediting that process, we are helping our client’s bottom line.”

Inspection Solution, formed in October when Manheim combined LemonBusters and Service Solutions, offers a variety of inspections, such as end-of-lease inspections, mobile pre-term lease inspections, retail pre-purchase inspections, dealer inspections, and warranty claims inspections. Inspection Solution offers mobile and fixed-site services nationwide for a more cost-effective and efficient vehicle inspection system for retail and wholesale customers alike, according to Manheim officialos.

It offers lessors the ability to have end-of-term vehicles inspected and fees collected at either fixed or mobile sites, allowing them to be more efficient in their remarketing efforts, according to DeWolf. "Inspection Solution guarantees accurate inspections, lessee satisfaction, and 24-hour turnaround in delivery of vehicles to auction from lease turn-in, compared to the industry average of 28 days," DeWolf said.

“Our clients enjoy ‘one call does it all’ customer service through a dedicated account representative stationed in our home office,” DeWolf said. “Inspection Solution is also equipped with state-of-the-art Internet technology, which enables clients such as Wells Fargo real-time access to current status information, report options, condition reports, and vehicle images right from their own desk top.

“We are currently performing more than 5,000 inspections a month. By providing financial institutions with these services, Inspection Solution is providing a valuable service that is saving our clients a great deal of money and helping them receive the end-of-term fees due to them much quicker than ever before,” DeWolf said.
