Manheim Auctions announced July 2 that Mark Brunn, most recently general manager of Manheim’s Greater Nevada Auto Auction, has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of special operations. He will report to Darryll Ceccoli, chief operating officer.

“This position will be invaluable to us in allowing auctions to share successful experiences in functional areas such as operations and marketing, to improve performance and provide a consistent high level of service at every Manheim auction,” Ceccoli said. “Mark’s firsthand experience in managing auctions will give him the skills needed to work with all levels of personnel at the auctions to help them achieve their best performance.”

As vice president of special operations, Brunn will be responsible for creating a best practices program by studying the efficiencies of the most successful auctions and consulting with auction general managers.

“Manheim has the opportunity to create a stronger, more efficient company from an operational standpoint and to further enhance a consistently high level of service that dealers can expect from any Manheim auction across the country,” Brunn said. “Our goal is to successfully implement best practices programs in each auction without sacrificing an auction’s individual character.”

Brunn is a 13-year veteran of the auto auction industry, having served in a variety of positions such as controller and assistant manager at Manheim’s California Auto Dealers Exchange, assistant manager at the Georgia Dealers Auction in Atlanta, and general manager for both Fredericksburg Auto Auction in Virginia and the Greater Nevada Auto Auction in Las Vegas.
