Car Salesmen Last in Ethics Survey

NEW YORK –- Car salesmen are the least trusted group of people, according to Gallup´s annual U.S. survey of professions. They ranked last in a list that included military officers, congressmen, lawyers, doctors and reporters.

NEW YORK –- Car salesmen are the least trusted group of people, according to Gallup´s annual U.S. survey of professions. They ranked last in a list that included military officers, congressmen, lawyers, doctors and reporters.


Only 9 percent of survey respondents rated car salesmen´s honesty and ethics as high, reported Reuters. Nurses topped the list with 79 percent of those surveyed giving them a "high" or "very high" rating.

The survey was conducted in November through telephone interviews with 1,015 adults.


Americans ranked public service professions highest in honesty and ethics.
