Aftermarket Companies Team Up to Distribute High Volume Dealer Vehicle Service Contract Program
US Warranty and IAS, Inc. partner to launch a national campaign to maximize income on the sale of F&I products in automotive dealerships
Innovative Aftermarket Systems (IAS),
Inc. and United States Warranty Corp. (USWC) on Dec. 8 announced that they have entered into a
strategic marketing partnership to distribute a high volume dealer vehicle service contract
program.
The partnership gives USWC a distribution channel through IAS’ general agency network to nationally market their flagship program, The Dealer Owned Warranty Co.
Traditionally, dealerships have focused on marketing VSCs offered by the manufacturer or another third party provider. Founded in 1975, USWC developed a program that allowed automotive dealers to form their own administrator obligor company. The Dealer Owned Warranty Co. allows the dealer, through the utilization of a separate "C" corporation, to form his own warranty company.
“We’re excited about this partnership with IAS because of the opportunity it presents to replicate our success in Florida nationally,” said Mark Macek, executive vice president of USWC. “Since 1975 we have been the administrator for over 25 DOWC’s encompassing 200 dealerships throughout Florida and have facilitated their growth and profitability. USWC is now looking forward to working with IAS and its general agents to provide the same level of service and profit to dealerships throughout the country.”
The DOWC is a business planning tool for dealers that provides an estate planning/wealth building
mechanism. It also allows the dealer to maintain competitive levels of front commission while the DOWC generates income on the VSC underwriting profit and reserve investment income.
“IAS has spent the last two decades providing innovative aftermarket products, F&I selling technology and training to establish one of the strongest general agent distribution networks in the business,” said Bob Corbin, president of IAS. “We’re delighted to be working with an outstanding company like USWC. We can now provide our agents with the ultimate high volume dealer offering in the industry that will definitely set their agencies apart from the competition.”
All IAS general agents will be required to attend a product specific training and be certified to market the DOWC, launching under the name, MaximumEquity.
