BMW recalled nearly 300,000 SUVs of various models due to an interior cargo rail issue that could lead to injury in a crash.
The estimated 290,000-plus 2018 to 2023 X3 models sDrive30i, xDrive30i, M40i and M may experience detachment of the cargo rail in the event of rear-end collision damage, according to a recall notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
BMW dealers will replace the rail attachment bolts to remedy the risk.
The German automaker is scheduled to mail notices to owners on Aug. 30.
